Gears Down: Fly! is a web site for pilots and aviation enthusiasts.
It provides tools to evaluate the big sky, and resources to point you in the right direction. Tools, like aeronautical charts, airspace information, flight planning, and weather briefing, can be used to browse destinations, navigate routes and check weather. Resources, like a gallery of weather maps, and a library of links to sources of information, can ultimately be used to carry out critical decision making. Gears Down: Fly! is all about flying. If this is your first time here you may want to start with Help, otherwise, see what's new in About. Or, dive right in below with "Quick Start".

Quick Start

Enter some airspace identifiers below and press "Go".
To search for an airspace identifier using the name, city, state, state code, country, or country code of the identifier, quote it like in the examples below. Some sample airports may be pre-populated if this is your first visit or a long overdue return. Otherwise, identifiers which you chose to remember previously will be populated by default. To continue working on recently entered identifiers, you can go directly to Tools. If you're feeling lucky, you can try the random feature on the left to see a computer picked route, airport, navaid, or fix.

Or, you can just browse the map by clicking and dragging your mouse and using the controls.
If you want to see a bigger map, press "Go". For more options and settings, visit Preferences.
